Our focus is on learning through play. The class is supervised by a teacher, 1 support teacher and 2 classroom assistants. Children are not required to be potty trained. But if you have begun toilet training at home, please inform us- we are happy to help. The nappies are routinely changed and also when necessary.
The circle time is an important time of the school day. We keep the same topic for 2 weeks- learn new songs, actions and get to know new and exciting stories. We ask you kindly to drop off your child before 9 o'clock. It is important that they settle in before we start our day.
Outdoor play on the playground is part of our day throughout the school year. We go outside twice a day- in the morning and after their nap. Time outside is reduced when the weather becomes too cold or wet.
Nature walks in the surrounding area are also part of the children's outdoor experience. We play outside up to 3 hours a day. Supervised free play is designed to encourage the children to explore a variety of activities. Project work takes place in small groups and individually.
The projects we follow are related to the seasons. Once a week the children have music class with our music teacher. They do a wide variety of songs and games related to the seasons and special occasions. The children get to play different instruments such as drums, shakers, bells etc.
After lunch and nappy changing our Tumbletots go to sleep. They usually sleep once a day for 1,5- 2,5 hours. We encourage children to sleep outside in their prams- in the fresh air they sleep better and longer. Parents are asked to bring in a pram, a sleeping bag and a rain cover.
