We stress the importance of social development through play and we encourage pupils to use their senses to acquire knowledge about the world around them. Motor skills, both fine and gross, are used through project work. We have music class once a week with our qualified Music teacher.
Circle time is a time when we get to know each other and it is also when the days’ projects are discussed, songs are learned and stories are told. Other activities during the day include project work, sand and water play, group activities and supervised play. We like to finish class listening to a story.
Lunch time is a social time when we eat together and talk about the day. Good table manners are encouraged.
Daily, except for extreme weather conditions, all children participate in outside play and will need clothing to suit all weather conditions.
It is preferable that children be out of nappies before they enter the pre-school class. We are happy to help with toilet training when required.
Please remember that class starts at 09.15 prompt. All children must arrive by this time.
